Jillian Gardner is a third year student at Oberlin College and Conservatory, where she is majoring in organ performance under the guidance of James David Christie. She is also pursuing a minor in harpsichord with Webb Wiggins. A native of Lee Center, New York, a village near Syracuse, she began studying piano at age 4. When she was a freshman in high school, she was appointed organist at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church and started her study of organ with Stephen Best. She has also studied with Jack Mitchener, Marie-Louise Langlais, and Jonathan Moyer. She won the 1st place award in the Buffalo, NY AGO Quimby chapter level competition in 2013 and attended the McGill Summer Organ Academy in Montreal, Canada. She has also had the opportunity to tour the organs of France this past January.
